A picture taken on April 9, 2002 shows Cameraman Gilles Jacquier from French TV 2 posing with his TV camera in the West Bank city of Nablus. French television reporter Gilles Jacquier was mowed down by a shell in the flashpoint city of Homs on January 11, 2012, becoming the first Western journalist to be killed in 10 months of deadly unrest across Syria. According to an AFP reporter at the scene, a shell exploded amid a group of journalists covering demonstrations in the city of Homs, a centre of opposition to the regime of President Bashar al-Assad. Several more people were reported wounded in the blast, which occurred as the reporters were on a visit organised by the Syrian authorities. AFP PHOTO / Odd ANDERSEN
